Spelter Candy Dish - Art Nouveau Spelter Statuette from the very early 1900's, portraying a maiden gracefully doing a dance. She is a fair blonde maiden dressed in a fabulous shade of blue with some worn patina on her pretty face. This Spelter Maiden stands atop a round marble base which i believe was once a candy dish - however it could be a fabulous display piece on a vanity. Simply put she is a highy decorative piece which stands 8" tall. Spelter, also known as white bronze, is an alloy made of pewter and antimony .. Many sculptors had their work cast in spelter at a time when bronze was very expensive and copper was used mainly for ammunition.
Spelter Candy Dish will surely delight any collecter!
